    What the law actually says

    • There is no single quote statute, but the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 requires quotes to be clear and honest. A solid quote spells out the scope, what is excluded, whether the price includes VAT (15 percent), the payment terms and any deposit. That is what stops disputes later.
